Yoga Retreat With Heather Smith

We come to our mats for reasons as varied and unique as we are. And like much of life, these reasons change from day to day. Some days we seek greater balance or range of motion, increased strength or flexibility. Other days we might seek grounding and focus, a reprieve from our hectic lives, a space to come back to Self by reconnecting to our breath. Whatever the impetus, it is clear that coming to our mats creates space for transformation.

Through yoga we RECONNECT to our living body, to our heart center, and to our Self.

Through yoga we REMEMBER our innate interconnectedness with all of life.

Through yoga we REAWAKEN to the beauty of the present moment.

Join Heather for a week long yoga immersion in Nosara, Costa Rica.

Heather Smith

About Heather:

Heather first turned to yoga as a path to healing from physical injury while living in Vietnam. Like a seed taking root, her simple fifteen-minute home practice grew, and she ultimately found herself in India, where she graduated from her first teacher training in 2015. Since then, Heather has continued on her yogic path, both as a dedicated student and teacher. In 2017, she completed an additional 200-hr teaching certification in the biomechanics of anatomy and alignment, and in 2019 she completed a 300-hr teaching certification in yoga therapy.

Heather believes that it’s our willingness and efforts to show up – both to our mats and to our lives – that is the embodiment of our asana practice. It’s difficult at times, it’s uncomfortable at times, it’s aggravating at times. But it’s also incredibly illuminating; a powerful physical experience that allows us to get up close and personal with our immense capacity for strength, resilience, courage, balance, and poise – both on and off the mat.

Today, Heather can be found weaving elements of modern movement science, somatic exploration, and drills for increasing strength and stability, into classes that are designed to prepare our contemporary western bodies for more advanced traditional yoga poses. Her classes are designed to be accessible and welcoming for all levels, and seek to leave the practitioner feeling grounded, embodied, empowered, and centered.
